The Tutor

What's up? I'm Colleen! I'm a 27-year-old creative writer, avid video game player, and devoted reader. Ever since I can remember, I've always loved to teach others how to read, write, and build upon their creativity. That’s why I started Chapter Chaser, LLC.

In 2018, I graduated from Rutgers University - New Brunswick with a BA in English and earned certificates in Creative Writing and Public History. At Rutgers, I was involved in dozens of writing workshops, literature discussions, and historical research projects. I’ve also won numerous writing and academic awards (some including Rutgers University’s Winter Showcase 2017, Karen DeLisle Memorial Scholarship, and an MTV writing contest). Today, I am committed to sharing my knowledge and skills to help inspire future generations to work hard for their goals.

During my time in college, I worked at The Tutoring Center in Hillsborough, NJ. After graduating, I was hired as a teacher at Huntington Learning Center in Bridgewater, NJ. These positions have shown me the rewarding benefits of individualized teaching for both students and tutors. My students have conquered their fears, flourished in rising English grades, and celebrated with higher standardized test scores in hand.

Tutoring is all about helping someone hone his/her inner academic strength and use it to accomplish what may seem to be the impossible. Reading and writing are arguably two of the most important skills one can have today, no matter what career path one chooses to follow in the future. As the primary tutor of Chapter Chaser, LLC, I've created my own tutoring curriculum that propels students forward with sharp writing and critical thinking skills, and based on my current students' enjoyment and rising grades, it works.

By growing confidence in one’s abilities, one’s world will positively grow as well.
